Specially formulated to lather best with a shaving brush, this shaving soap builds a dense, stable lather that works as a great cream for wet shaving. Cocoa & shea butters plus vegetable-based stearic acid generate a thick, dense cream, and a modest addition of coconut oil opens up the texture just enough to lift lather off the soap. Added vegetable glycerin gives the razor extra glide and moisturizes.

A classic barbershop pairing, this blend of clean, cool mint and sweet eucalyptus camphor is extremely refreshing, with the cooling sensation of menthol on the finish.

Directions

Soak for 2-3 minutes in warm water, along with a brush. Shake excess water from the brush and swirl vigorously for at least half a minute or more to load the bristles, adding water as necessary. Build lather in a mug, scuttle, bowl, in hand, or directly on the face (additional water may be necessary). Add more soap as required by swirling brush on the soap. Always perform a patch test first, may contain allergens for some people.

Details

Our cold-process soaps are a blend of natural fatty acids found in oils and butters, and pure alkali (lye) which converts those fatty acids into soap and naturally occurring glycerin. With the lye completely consumed in the process, small amounts of moisturizing butters and oils are left in the soap. Different oils yield different properties, with this shaving soap structured to yield a thick, stable lather with inherently gentle cocoa and shea butter. A portion of coconut oil is added to give the soap the lift required to whip into a cream.

What a great soap and splash. Huge lather!

Great product and friendly service

I started purchasing your products from a local store for my Dad. Unfortunately, that store closed but I found you on line because my Dad keeps requesting it when he runs out. Sadly, I live on the east coast and he is on the west coast so I don't get to smell the product up close and personal. Also, since it is for males, I don't personally need or use any of your line and I am not present to see the packaging. I will say that communication has been excellent when there was an issue with delivery time. I know he really likes the products or he wouldn't keep asking for it again and again! I will continue to purchase the aftershave and shaving soap as long as he keeps asking for them!

My husband is now obsessed with this and has thrown all his other products out. Highly recommend.

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, still using what I have. I don't like running out so i bought ahead of time.Will be glad to give you a review once i start using it.I have used the soap and shampoo, conditioner and love them.

Love the smell, packaging was nice. Overall good product, I would just like a little better lather.

My husband likes the fragrance of this soap. The lather was creamy and moisturizing leaving the skin smooth and soft. A good, quality, bar of shaving soap. Shipped pretty quickly and packaged well.

Great soap!! Smells wonderful and produces a fantastic lather. Ranks up there with some of the best veggie soaps available. My only complaint is that I wish it was more strongly scented.

Shaving Soap, Brushwood

I got it in today and I used it shortly after because I anticipated its arrival. The lather is pretty good. I didn't think a natural soap could lather that well. The glide was acceptable and it made my skin feel soft afterward. I paired it with the Campfire aftershave, which will be reviewed under that product.

As far as the smell goes, it does have a licorice-type quality. This has fennel in it, which has a scent profile similar to licorice. When you mix that with the green sappy touch of birch, then you get what this smells like. It gets smokier as the scent progresses.

Another great product! Leathers nicely in my mesh soap saver bag. It's definitely fragrance-free, not unscented: there's a very slight, natural odor if I stick it right under my nose. (It's quite pleasant.) Will be back for more shaving soap soon!
